Set in New York at the turn of the 20th century, Ragtime tells the stories of an upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant, and a daring young Harlem musician united by their desire and belief in a brighter tomorrow. Ragtime won five Tony Awards and four Drama Desk Awards for its moving tale that draws on the lives of real people, including Evelyn Nesbit, Emma Goldman, and Harry Houdini. Completed by a Tony-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Aherns, Ragtime is a celebration of what life could and should be.

Billy Childs

Pianist Billy Childs is a three-time Grammy Award-winner that draws together jazz and classical music in a distinct and powerful way. Childs’ new project is a tribute to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Laura Nyro, one of the most impassioned singer-songwriters of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Many of her songs were also made famous by Blood Sweat & Tears (And When I Die), Barbra Streisand (Stoney End), and the Fifth Dimension (Wedding Bell Blues). Childs is joined by two spectacular young vocalists, Becca Stevens and Alicia Olatunji, in a “rousing, genre-defying homage to Nyro’s genius” (JazzTimes).
