ORE THAN 3,500 CATTLE RAISERS, FRIENDS, AND family gathered in Fort Worth for the 2015 Cattle Raisers Convention, hosted by Texas


and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. Attendees could attend classes and cattle handling


demonstrations in the Cattle Raisers Expo, which had a record-setting number of exhibitors, or they could sign up for classroom sessions taught by experts in ranching, ag business and a host of other topics. Information sessions brought speakers on current


issues to the event — drought and climate; border security; the market outlook; consumer perceptions on beef production; and more.


54 The Cattleman June 2015 Dignitaries graced the stage at the opening and


closing general sessions. Vicente Fox, president of Mexico, and Sylvia Longmire, nationally recognized expert on southern border security issues, were high- lights of the opening session. At the closing session, dignitaries in the ranching world were awarded for their commitment to excellence and service. And Cattle Raisers had fun. The Saturday Cattle


Raisers Dinner and Dance at River Ranch brought more than 1,200 people to enjoy great food, special whiskey tastings, cigar rolling demonstrations, and plenty of benches around fi re pits for folks to relax and enjoy the clear evening skies outside. Inside,
