BEREAVEMENTS
Joseph Allen Erramouspe, Co- rona, NM, 48, died April 18. He was born Jan. 16, 1967, in Albu- querque. He was a 1985 gradu- ate of Corona High School. Er- ramouspe graduated from Texas Christian University’s Ranch Management program in 1989. His passion for ranching actively involved him in numerous areas including the New Mexico Cattle Growers Association. He is sur- vived by his wife Roxanne Dav- ette Gabel, former staff member of The Cattleman magazine; their 2 daughters, Haleigh Marie and Karleigh Rae Erramouspe; and numerous other relatives. Me- morials may be made to the Vil- lage of Corona Public Library or the Corona Public Schools Li- brary.
NAMES IN THE NEWS
Tammy Beckham has been named dean of the Kansas State University Col- lege of Veterinary Medicine, effective Aug. 2.
Beckham is the director of the Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases (IIAD), a Department of Homeland Security Center of Excellence in College Station. Since 2010, she has led the IIAD’s efforts to perform research and develop products to defend the nation from high-consequence foreign animal, emerg- ing and zoonotic diseases.
Beckham also has served as director of the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. Oklahoma State University’s Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Re- sources has renamed the OSU Animal Science Arena in memory of Robert E.
Totusek, longtime head of the division’s department of animal science. The new offi cial name was unveiled during April 11 ceremonies at the facil-
ity, located on McElroy Avenue west of the university’s Stillwater campus. Carlos Rubinstein, chairman of the Texas Water Development Board, re- ceived the Outstanding Public Offi cial award from the Water Environment As- sociation of Texas. The award recognizes public offi cials who actively promote sound science in environmental policy and regulations. Jeff Goodwin, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service state range- land management specialist, has been named the Range Conservationist of
the Year by the Society of Range Management. This honor was given at the international professional society’s annual meeting earlier this year.
