Maxcess invests in new Precision Roll facilities
One of the global leaders in products and services for the web handling industry, Maxcess, has completed its $2.5 million investment that transformed its two precision roll facilities in the USA. The Neenah, Wisconsin, site now joins the Chicopee, Massachusetts, location as an industry-leading ‘Center of Excellence’, specialising in the manufacture of Webex Precision Rolls.
“The ‘Center of Excellence’ transformation in Neenah is a multi-faceted improvement of the facility and an important investment in our future growth and success,” said Joe Alderton, general manager for Webex. “These improvements will ultimately allow us to better meet and exceed our customers’ expectations as we continue working to earn their trust and business.”
Launched as a platform to transform the Chicopee and Neenah facilities into world-
class manufacturing ‘Centers of Excellence’, the investment allows Webex to leverage its significant burst capacity to manufacture heat transfer, vacuum, spreader/bowed and idler rolls in quantities that are unrivaled in the industry. “With this initiative in Chicopee and Neenah, we stand prepared to leverage our global footprint to better serve our domestic and multi-national customers by providing quality precision roll orders in a more efficient manner,” added Greg Jehlik, CEO of Maxcess. “Pairing this investment with our worldwide sales force, engineering, service and support teams, we are able to vastly improve the customer experience while increasing our capacity for large quantity orders across the business.”

UV DAYS 2015: IST METZ “rocking” the print world
The world's largest in-house trade fair for UV technology is entering the next round. On 15-

Demand for the brand new creasing matrix from C&T Matrix, called PINK, is at an all-time high, the company has reported, with new global customers embracing its durability characteristics. And 2015 will see the launch of PINK across the rest of
the world, with particular focus on Europe. “Since launching our new PINK range of creasing matrix last year, it has been challenging to keep up with demand,” said Simon Shenton, C&T managing director. Initially, C&T Matrix concentrated on the launch of PINK in emerging global markets, where
run lengths are still long and operators require a matrix which is tough, durable and of high quality. PINK is characterised by its longevity, but it is also very easy to chamfer by hand thanks to the fibrous content of its specially developed Rosadium raw material. China, Mexico, India, South East Asia, Russia, UK and Germany have been the key markets for PINK so far. “We have converted very large international customers, such as DS Smith, Smurfit Kappa and Schumacher to PINK and they have been delighted with the increased performance on press,” added Shenton. established with UV DAYS the first international event to focus on UV printing. IST METZ will demonstrate UV in sheet- fed, web and digital printing and three presses will be continuously printing UV products – to look at, touch and take home. The in-house printed product highlights the versatility of UV technology, for example in the market segments of packaging printing, commercial printing and label printing. In keeping with the motto “UV rocks!”, a cardboard guitar will be printed and finished live at the event on the company's own sheet- fed offset press, using a combination of LED colours and UV varnishes. “We are no longer solely focusing on providing information about UV printing. Although that is, and will remain, our core competence,” explained Dirk Jagers, managing director of IST METZ. “These days, the overall concept of a printed product must appeal to the consumer, in the higher-priced segment especially. Printed products from our company demonstrate the latest possibilities.” Partners will present design trends in the new ‘Innovation Corner’ at UV DAYS and the UV Lounge will return this year, offering visitors a comfortable retreat to network with industry colleagues.
