Increased availability of Iggesund’s paperboards for the UK market
In recent months, Iggesund Paperboard has re-structured its merchant network in the UK for
its solid bleached board brand, Invercote, and its folding box board brand, Incada. “We’re happy that in the past few months we’ve been able to start working with Antalis and Elliot Baxter & Co as our main partners in the UK wholesale
market,” says Rikard Papp, director of Iggesund’s sales to merchants. “Via these two distributors, Invercote G, Invercote Creato (1s and 2s solid bleached board grades), Incada Exel and Incada Silk (1s and 2s folding box board grades) are now available for purchase throughout the UK.” Iggesund has a specialised range for digital print and that will continue to be
Xeikon appoints Metsä Board as Aura partner
Xeikon, innovator in digital printing technology, has made Metsä Board, European
producer of fresh forest fibre cartonboards, a member of its Aura partner network, following rigorous testing and certification of six cartonboards. The boards now recognised as certified substrates for Xeikon 3000 Series presses are Carta Allura, Carta Elega, Carta Solida, Avanta Prima, Simcote and Carta Integra. “Digital printing is expanding rapidly in the packaging industry, as brand owners see its benefits for short runs, adaptations for different markets or languages, limited editions, tie-ins with sporting or entertainment events, personalisation and much more,” says Lauri Järvinen, technical marketing manager at Metsä Board. “Our acceptance into the Xeikon Aura network gives our customers extra impetus to specify our cartonboards for digital print.” Filip Weymans, director segment

Pankaboard delivers further product
development in 2015
Pankaboard is set to deliver a significantly improved yield for PankaMax, PankaDisc and PankaSeal this year thanks to recent investments in its paperboard machinery. A new dilution headbox, installed on the BM3 machine in June 2014, can deliver the required paperboard thickness by using up to 10 per cent less substance depending on grade. With the new bulk improvements, products will retain the same standards and quality characteristics, while further reducing the ecological footprint. From this year, customers will get more
square metres per ordered ton. The BM3 machine produces a wide range of uncoated paperboards suitable for a variety of end- uses. All Pankaboard products are made of 100 per cent natural virgin fibres, certified by ISEGA for direct food contact.
