The third Plastic Closure Innovations conference, organised by Applied Market Information and supported by Injection World magazine, takes place in Berlin in Germany on 9-11 June this year, providing attendees with an unrivalled opportunity to explore the market trends, design ideas and technology developments driving plastic cap developments across all end use markets.

features a programme of 21 expert speakers who will share insight into every aspect of the plastics caps and closures industry. Closure innovations Roger F Wilfi nger, CEO of Switzerland-based Vicap Systems Europe Asia, opens the closure innovation session with a presentation looking at how innovative design can improve closure functionality. He will detail the company’s development of a consumer-activated dispensing sport closure that opens the way for packaging of sensitive products such as vitamin-en- hanced beverages. Continuing the innovation theme, Dennis Broberg, R&D Manager at Swedish pharma packaging producer Nolato Cerbo will explain how the company is using a building block approach as part of a lean development process to bring new designs to the market faster. developer Smooth HIP will discuss the company’s new Groovy Cap closure design, which is now in production by Bericap under the StackCap name. Groovy Cap incorporates moulded in features that allow each cap to be snapped together to create a novel ‘second use’ construction system. India is one of the fastest growing plastics markets.


Dayanand Reddy Anugu is Managing Director of India-based mouldmaker Vasantha Tool Crafts, which is a major supplier of closure moulds to producers around the globe. He will open the moulds and
