SHOW PREVIEW: CONTROL Imaging under control

A preview of some of the imaging technology on display at the quality assurance show, Control, which takes place from 5-8 May in Stuttgart, Germany

EVT will be exhibiting its EyeVision soſtware at the show. Te soſtware can evaluate several images from various sensors at the same time.

One example is inspecting fibre-reinforced

composites: a 3D camera will look at the shape of the composite, while, at the same time, a camera for thermal imaging inspects if the fibre inside is broken or not, and a colour camera checks if the correct colour is mounted. Tanks to the Sensorfusion module, the EyeVision suite can combine those complex inspection tasks in one evaluation soſtware. EVT will display its EyeSens MCI (multi-

colour inspect) for the inspection of LEDs and other coloured objects, as well as the EyeScan AT 3D sensor. www.evt-web.com

LMI Technologies will be running live demos of its Gocator all-in-one 3D smart sensors, devices that are designed for inline inspection, including of small parts. Also on display will be the company’s MikroCAD line of surface metrology systems for high precision in- lab 3D scanning at submicron-levels, including the Zoller PomSkpGo model for scanning cutting tools. Finally, the company will exhibit its HDI 100 series of high-performance structured light blue LED scanners for 3D modelling, including the Geomagic Capture system for desktop 3D scanning from 3D Systems. www.lmi3d.com

Matrox Imaging will feature its products on the company’s representative Rauscher’s stand.

Matrox’s full range of machine vision tools for integrators of QA-related systems include Design Assistant 4 and Matrox Imaging Library vision soſtware, and the 4Sight GPm family of industrial imaging computers. Design Assistant 4 is a hardware-independent integrated development environment (IDE)

Edmund Optics, a manufacturer and distributor of precision optics, optical assemblies and image processing components, will be exhibiting at the show. In addition to showcasing the wide breadth of its components and imaging portfolio, Edmund Optics will be displaying demos that show selected products in action. It will present its newest products such as the Techspec megapixel finite and infinite conjugate micro-video imaging lenses, and Techspec SWIR fixed focal length lenses. Also on show will be the new dynamic focus VZM lenses that use an internal

that lets users create an application flowchart and HMI easily, and take projects from concept to completion quickly without the need for conventional programming. It not only works with Matrox Iris GT smart cameras, but also any PC with GigE Vision or USB3 Vision cameras. Matrox 4Sight GPm industrial computers feature a combination of embedded PC technology, compact size and ruggedness, making them ideal for cost-sensitive image analysis and machine vision applications. www.matrox.com/imaging

liquid lens to adjust focus over a 7x range, from 0.65x to 4.6x, while maintaining the zoom capabilities of the standard VZM zoom imaging lenses. Tese lenses feature a lockable iris, zoom control and a rotatable mount for optimal camera orientation, ideal for a broad range of applications including microscopy and circuit board inspection. www.edmundoptics.com

Pregius IMX249 global shutter CMOS, offering impressive imaging performance, as well as the new 5.0 megapixel Sharp CCD with improved sensitivity and image quality. Also the high performance Grasshopper3 camera family will be on display featuring the latest sensor technology including the ICX825, the next generation of the Sony ICX285 featuring a 1.4 megapixel EXview HAD CCD II. www.ptgrey.com

Laser manufacturer, Z-Laser, will exhibit various structured light

Point Grey will showcase a variety of its latest CMOS and CCD imaging cameras, ranging from VGA to 12 megapixels. Tese will include the new Chameleon3 USB3 Vision board-level camera series, which are well suited to a wide range of space-constrained applications. Te Chameleon3 combines the ease-of-use of USB 3.0, the small size and flexibility of board-level, and the most popular CCD and CMOS image sensors into an affordable package, starting at $295/€219. Additional highlights will include the compact

Blackfly camera line featuring highly sensitive sensors, such as the latest 2.3 megapixel Sony

lasers for machine vision and positioning, including the updated ZM18x3 series. Te M18 thread housing with 20mm optic head contains new driver electronics that will offer improved power stability over the entire temperature range. ZM18S3 offers higher optical output power

up to 200mW (near-infrared, 830nm) and up to 500kHz modulation; also the blue spectrum in ZM18H3 offers more output power up to 160mW (405nm). For limited space installations, smaller modules are available with similar features in ZM12 series. Te product range is completed by the ZQ/ZQ2 laser sources family for precise and more powerful laser projections, where output up to 6W is necessary. www.z-laser.com
