Clia’s River Cruise Weekend starts today with incentives from 11 lines

Clia UK & Ireland is looking to drive awareness of river cruises during its first dedicated consumer campaign for the sector. The River Cruise Weekend, running from March 26-30, has been organised by Clia to raise the profile of river holidays, following the success of Cruise Week, held last September, which focused on ocean cruising.
During the
weekend, river cruise customers will be able to take advantage of offers and agents will be able to win prizes and earn extra commission. Incentives include: ■ Amadeus River Cruises is offering a complimentary upgrade on cabins on its 15-day Across
Renovated Carnival Sunshine to sail from New York in 2016
Carnival Cruise Line’s revamped ship Carnival Sunshine is to run 20 departures from New York next summer.
The sailings will operate
between June and October 2016 and range from two-day breaks to 10-day voyages. Destinations include Canada, New England, Bermuda and the Caribbean. The vessel – the first to
feature all of Carnival’s Fun Ship 2.0 upgraded dining, bar and entertainment facilities – will also sail from Charleston, South Carolina and Norfolk, Virginia, in summer and autumn 2016. Carnival Sunshine replaces

in AmaWaterways’ prize draw for agents
Europe cruises booked between March 26-30. ■ AmaWaterways is giving customers a free cheese hamper and a travel guide, while agents who secure bookings will go into a prize draw to win £100 in Love2shop vouchers. ■ American Cruise Lines is offering $1,000 off staterooms for bookings on its Maine Coast, New England Island and Mississippi cruises by April 30 for travel in July and August.
