United to launch Newcastle-New York and Edinburgh-Chicago services Ian Taylor
United Airlines is poised to begin flights from Newcastle to its hub at New York Newark for the summer, and will resume flights between Edinburgh and Chicago. The Newcastle-Newark service will begin on May 23, operating from the UK every day except Wednesday and Thursday until September 7. Return flights will depart New York every day except Tuesday and Wednesday. Delta to start service from Heathrow to Philadelphia in April
Delta Air Lines will begin a daily service from Heathrow to Philadelphia on April 27, improving access to the northeast of the US.
The flights will operate on a 164-seat Boeing 757, departing from Heathrow Terminal 4 and not Terminal 3, to which most Delta services relocated last year to sit alongside partner Virgin Atlantic. Delta’s BusinessElite cabin

BA ups Gatwick-Orlando capacity to record level British Airways says it will be offering its biggest-ever capacity from Gatwick to Orlando when its service expands to twice-daily on March 29. Flights depart Gatwick at 11.20 and 13.50. The carrier is offering seven nights at the three-star Ramada Gateway, Orlando, from £529 for travel from April 12 to June 30.

VLM to serve Hamburg daily from Southampton VLM Airlines will launch a daily service from Southampton to Antwerp and Hamburg on April 23, using a 50-seat Fokker 50. Flights will depart Southampton at 12.00, arriving in Hamburg at 20.00 following a stopover in Antwerp.
