Nike Hoop Summit The 18th annual Nike Hoop Summit


will feature the U.S. looking to improve upon its all-time 12-5 record in the event. The 2015 Nike Hoop Summit will


be played at the Moda Center, home of the Portland Trail Blazers, in Portland, Oregon., on Saturday, April 11, at 12 p.m. (PDT). The game will be televised live nationally on ESPN2. The Nike Hoop Summit is the only


game featuring America's top male high school senior players taking on a World Select Team comprised of the world's top

1995-2000, the Nike Hoop Summit was resumed in 2004 after a three-year hiatus, and since 2008 it has taken place in Portland.


An incredible 165 former USA and


World Select Team members have been drafted by NBA teams, including 14 players in the 2014 NBA Draft and 11 players in 2013. World Team alumni Andrew Wiggins went No. 1 in 2014, while another international player, Anthony Bennett, went No. 1 in 2013. Since the first Nike Hoop Summit in 1995, eight Hoop Summit alumni have been chosen No. 1 in the NBA Draft, including the past five No. 1 picks. All told, 55 players have been selected among the first 10 draftees. The first three draft picks were


former Nike Hoop Summit players in 2014 (Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Joel Embid), in 2012 (Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Bradley Beal) and in 2008 (Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley and O.J. Mayo). Five players who starred in a Nike


Hoop Summit have gone on to earn NBA Rookie of the Year, including Kyrie Irving (2012), Tyreke Evans (2010), Rose (2009), Kevin Durant (2008) and Elton Brand, who shared the honor in 2000. As of December 2014, a remarkable


68 former U.S. players and 26 former World team members were active in the NBA. Additionally, 32 former Hoop Summit players are currently competing on the collegiate level, including 23 U.S. players and nine World Team athletes.


FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championship


The 2015 FIBA 3x3 U18 World


Championship will be held June 4-7 in Debrecen, Hungary. In order to be eligi- ble, athletes must participate in at least one FIBA-sanctioned 3x3 tournament in 2015 prior to participating in the 2015 USA Basketball 3x3 U18 National Tournament that is scheduled to be held April 30-May 3 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. To receive an invitation to participate in the 2015 USA Basketball 3x3 National Tournament, teams must be selected through a qualifying 3x3 tourna- ments and approved by USA Basketball.


The FIBA 3x3 U18 World


Championship has been held on an annual basis, except in the years of the Youth Olympic Games (2010, 2014).


Twenty-four men’s and 24 women’s


teams are expected to compete in a four- day event.

FIBA Men's 3x3 U18 World Championship are: Andorra, Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Spain, Turkey, Uruguay, USA and Vietnam.


Teams qualified for the FIBA


Women's 3x3 U18 Worlds are: Andorra, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, France, Germany, Guam, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Syria, USA and Venezuela.


Including results from the 2010


Youth Olympic Games, which was a 3x3 U18 competition, and from the 2011- 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships, the USA men are 27-10 all-time and earned the silver medal in 2012 and placed 4th in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games.


The USA women’s 3x3 U18 teams


have compiled a 41-5 overall record and captured gold at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games, and the 2012 and 2013 FIBA U18 World Championships, while winning bronze medals at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games and 2011 FIBA U18 World Championship.
