for USA Basketball teams in 2015 with USA men’s and women’s squads competing in the FIBA U19 World Championships, FIBA Americas U16 Championships and the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. Additionally, a USA women’s team of collegians will look to successfully repeat as gold medalist at the World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea, and again this April, USA Basketball will send the USA Men’s Junior National Select Team, a team comprised of top high school seniors, to the 18th annual Nike Hoop Summit. USA 3x3 teams will participate in
the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships that will be held in Hungary, and USA Basketball will again conduct 3x3 National Tournaments in the Open and U18 age categories.
FIBA U19 World Championship For Men Featuring the world’s top 19-year-
old and younger players, FIBA currently holds U19 World Championships every two years. First held in 1979 and known as the FIBA Junior World Championship, in the 11 U19 competitions held the USA men’s teams have won five gold and three silver medals, including gold in two of the past three U19 championships (2009 and 2013). In 2013 the USA men finished 9-0
to capture gold, and now own an all-time win-loss record of 78-13 in the competi- tion.
The 2015 FIBA U19 World
Championship for Men will feature 16 national teams and will be held June 27- July 5 in Crete, Greece.

The USA earned its qualifying spot
for the U19 worlds last summer by capturing gold at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship with a 5-0 record. Approximately 30 athletes, 19-
years-old or younger (born on or after 1/1/96), are slated to participate in the team’s training camp which will be held June 12-26 at the U.S. Olympic Training
Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Player selections for the USA U19 team will be made by USA Basketball’s Junior National Team Committee. In addition to host Greece; nations
qualified for the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship are: Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Iran, Italy, Serbia,
