Travel Weekly’s Globe Travel Awards continued to set standards this year, with 1,200 guests enjoying a spectacular night of celebrity entertainment and celebrating the trade’s favourite suppliers. Travel Weekly editor-in-chief Lucy

went to Barrhead Travel’s Leanne Kane, while foreign exchange start-up WeSwap took the innovation category. Attraction World took home the most awards, winning the Best Add-ons Provider, Best Trade-friendly Brand and Best Trade Sales Team accolades. The awards are voted for entirely by


travel agents and the supplier/trade relationship was highlighted as key to

Claire Cannon of Classic Collection Holidays, which won the Globe for Best Short-Haul Operator for a third time, said: “This award is recognition of the hard work our team and trade partners have put in. Agents are our bread and butter and we don’t ever take that for granted.” Prizes given away during the evening included five trips to New York courtesy of Royal Caribbean, which also held a draw for a £10,000 diamond, won by Paul Kennedy of GoCruise. Travel Weekly managing director Stuart Parish said: “I’m so proud of what the Globe Travel Awards mean to the industry.
