Increased use of laser scanning and digital data through the use of building information modelling (BIM) allows a far greater return on investment where data can be used for planning and ongoing facilities management on various types of infrastructure.

After survey and de-vegetation work between Bicester and Bletchley last year, a second phase of work has been planned, involving further vegetation management, general maintenance and upkeep of the rail corridor. This was due  2015.

The East West Rail consortium of local authorities along the corridor from East Anglia to Oxfordshire recently noted that work to construct a new chord at Bicester to link the Chiltern Mainline – while upgrading and re- signalling the line, and building the new Oxford Parkway station at Water Eaton – is on track.
