Straus was the featured luncheon speaker, discussing issues facing Texas during the upcoming elec- tion. TSCRA offi cers reported to the


board of directors about TSCRA activities and priority issues, includ- ing what business may be before the Texas legislature in the not-too- distant future. Attendees also heard from guest speaker Evan Smith, edi- tor in chief and CEO of The Texas Tribune, about upcoming elections and the political climate in Texas. A number of TSCRA policies

Lt. Gen Joe Weber, executive direc- tor, Texas Department of Transporta- tion, discussed Texas transportation issues at a general informational session on Sept. 25.
