Line scan cameras Teledyne Dalsa has introduced its Piranha4 2k quadlinear line scan camera, featuring red, green, and blue (RGB) outputs plus a near infrared (NIR) channel.

The quadlinear Piranha4 is built around the

Dart and Beat cameras Basler has introduced a board-level series of cameras called Dart and an area scan family of cameras called Beat. The Dart cameras use various Aptina CMOS

sensors with 1.2 to five-megapixel resolution, and deliver up to 54 images per second through the USB 3.0 interface. Customers can choose among three mount models: S mount, CS mount and bare board without mount. The bare board variant measures 27 x 27mm and weighs 5g, while the two mount versions measure 29 x 29mm and weigh about 15g. The Dart cameras also offer an appealing price-performance ratio: it is available from €99. The Basler Beat series is available with a sensitive CMOS sensor CMV12000 by Cmosis and a Camera Link interface. It features both a mono (beA4000-60km) and a colour model (beA4000-60kc) with a full resolution of 12

megapixels with progressive scan and global shutter technology. The series offers high speed with more than 60fps and high throughput through its Camera Link interface. The Beat cameras offer a compact and rugged

housing, and come with a range of accessories. The cameras are ideal for metrology and identification tasks, including semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. The high resolution also makes them suitable for traffic applications, being able to cover multiple lanes with only one camera.

The Beat cameras are compliant with industry standards such as Camera Link and GenICam. Based on the GenICam standard, Basler’s free Pylon camera software suite operates with all models of the Beat series. The cameras are available in the UK from Multipix Imaging. www.baslerweb.com

company’s advanced CMOS image sensor design. Wafer-level dichroic filters enable spectrally independent RGB and NIR outputs, enhancing detection capability for a wide range of machine vision applications, including print, bank note inspection, electronics manufacturing, food, and material sorting. The new RGB+NIR Piranha4 multispectral camera is available in 2k resolution, with 14.08µm pixel size and delivers a maximum line rate of 70kHz. The camera also features sub-pixel spatial correction, horizontal parallax correction, multiple AOI and ROI, and independent exposure time for each colour channel. www.teledynedalsa.com/imaging

VisiLine USB 3.0 cameras Cameras from Baumer’s VisiLine series now come with a USB 3.0 interface. The first models with high-performance Sony CCD sensors provide excellent image quality and high frame rates up to 160fps at VGA and 42fps at 1.2 megapixel resolution. Another model makes use of a VGA global shutter CMOS sensor with 373fps for demanding highly dynamic applications.

The cameras feature integrated image

memory for safe transmission to a PC. The mechanical design with all-sided mounting capabilities offers maximum installation flexibility. Functions like sequencer or configurable user sets are also provided by the USB 3.0 vision models to allow quick design-in. The new models have an integrated voltage supply through a USB 3.0 cable. Only one cable is used for both transmission and power supply

to aid in cable management. The broad VisiLine accessory range includes verified USB 3.0 components like screwed cable strain reliefs and PCI interface cards, and offers a wide selection for versatile industry and life science applications. www.baumer.com

P-Series smart camera Datalogic has released the P-Series smart camera. The series merges advanced smart camera functionalities in a fully-embedded vision sensor form factor. Five focal lengths and seven lighting options result in 70 different combinations that deliver good installation flexibility while offering superior image acquisition capabilities. The combination of a user-friendly, powerful interface and robust software tools will change the way any engineer, from beginner to expert, looks at machine vision. The P-Series is purpose-built to tackle machine vision applications in food and beverage, pharmaceutical and automotive industries where ease of use, compactness and price/performance ratio are the most important buying criteria. www.datalogic.com
