he dust is beginning to settle aſter the Vision trade fair, which saw the machine vision community meet for the first time in Stuttgart in
two years as part of the show’s new biennial cycle. Te event was a success with visitor and exhibitor numbers up on the 2012 show. Tere is a full report and news from the event starting on page 4. Congratulations go to Odos Imaging, which won
the Vision Award for the company’s time-of-flight 3D camera. Imaging and Machine Vision Europe is proud to continue its sponsorship of the award and Warren Clark, the magazine’s publishing director, presented the prize to Odos Imaging in a ceremony at the trade fair. More on Odos Imaging’s technology can be found on page 9. Tere are also feature articles on automotive
manufacturing inspection (page 18), one of the big users of machine vision, imaging in the life sciences (page 20), and the cameras and image sensors used for both space- and Earth-bound astronomy, including the image sensors onboard the Rosetta Philae lander (page 24). Vision in Stuttgart returns in 2016, but the events
calendar rolls on, with the first big show of the New Year being Photonics West in San Francisco in early February.
