Schott Moritex has introduced the ML-F90C-07 and ML-U MP9 lenses, designed to maximise the performance of large format, high resolution sensors. Te ML-F90C-07 supports high- performance line scan cameras, offering a resolution of 150 lp/ mm to make best use of the latest 16k/3.5μm sensors. Te lens aperture is 20 per cent larger than those of previous models. Te ML-U MP9 C-mount

lens series is ideal for a large image circle diameter of up to one inch, and is designed for the

latest nine-megapixel, 3.6μm pixel pitch sensors, such as those used in Sony’s XCL range of machine vision cameras. Schott has produced a range of lenses to maximise the potential of Sony’s high resolution cameras. www.schott-moritex.com www.image-sensing-solutions.eu

Stemmer Imaging has signed an agreement with Optotune for the distribution of Optotune’s range of polymer lenses for industrial vision applications. Tese lenses consist of an elastic lens material, whose shape can be adjusted in order to focus. Tis provides an interesting

Zeiss industrial lenses with an M42 thread mount are compact, offering good image quality and a robust, all-metal body. Tey are roughly the same size as larger C-mount lenses. Te lenses are equipped with a

flexible and stable thread and create an image circle of 43mm. Tey are therefore ideal for imaging on area sensors between 1.3-inch and 24 x 36mm, or line sensors between 28mm and 43mm. Te new lenses are only half the

alternative to traditional solid glass or plastic-based optics which are moved backwards and forwards to focus or zoom. Tunable focus is achieved by

changing the shape of the flexible lenses, which feature a container filled with an optical liquid and sealed with a thin, elastic polymer membrane. A circular ring pushes onto the centre of the membrane. Te shape of the lens, and hence its focus, can be changed by moving the ring or exerting a pressure on the outer part of the membrane, or by pumping liquid into or out of the container. A change in lens radius of several microns can have the same optical effect as moving the entire lens several centimetres. www.stemmer-imaging.co.uk

weight of the ZF lenses from Zeiss and take up only a quarter of the volume, taking into account the shorter flange focal distance. Te very short flange focal length of just 26.8mm also facilitates an overall compact camera lens system. Te focus and aperture are fixed by knurled screws. Te lenses can withstand shocks

and vibrations. Typical applications include images taken with unmanned aerial vehicles, interior photos during crash tests, and deployment for traffic enforcement. www.zeiss.com/lenses4industryw
