Latest weighing module

BM has expanded the weighing capacity of its highly popular C16M weighing modules with its latest device that is designed for loads of up to 400t and with an accuracy class D1 as per OIML R60. The addition doubles the capacity previously available with these modules. HBM’s C16M modules have been used successfully for

H for many years silo, vehicle and container

weighing with maximum capacities ranging from 20t to 200t. The C16M features integrated stay bar restraints to absorb horizontal forces while the design offers high safety and accuracy even with very high wind loads. The latest weighing module is also legal-for-trade and achieves protection class IP68. The self-cantering stainless steel load cell C16A is used as the weighing element and reaches the accuracy class D1 as per OIML R60 even with 400t loads.

November. The first of the November series starts on 4th November by looking at how the mechanical stress testing of elastic materials validates finite element analysis (FEA) for material development and testing. Engineers will learn how to perform these tests including selecting appropriate strain gauge rosettes, various modes of strain gauge connectivity, data acquisition setup, acquiring strain data and calculating principal stress. The webinar will also discuss how to determine the von Mises reference stress, class counting and sector monitoring. This is followed by five webinars on successive days. Starting on the 10th November there is a webinar on strain gauge measurements on Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) that are exposed to high mechanical loads during production and mounting processes. These events can damage a board or any components mounted on it leading to failures in the field. Measuring the stresses occurring during these processes can uncover potential weak points, improve the process and improve product quality.

SHOWCASE

November webinars cover wide variety of important DAQ subjects

BM has announced a series of free on-line webinars starting in the latter part of October and taking place throughout

BM has launched the SomatXR measuring amplifier for mobile data acquisition testing in extreme and very demanding environmental conditions. The SomatXR range has been designed with particular regard for the testing requirements in construction, agricultural, and mining machinery as well as for all-weather and year-round road vehicle tests. Tests based on the MIL-202 standard indicated a vibration resistance of 10g and an impact resistance of 70g. There are three different modules in the range, each featuring 16 individually configurable and galvanically isolated inputs and providing support for numerous different transducer technologies. The SomatXR amplifiers are protected against moisture, dust, shock and vibration. All modules meet protection class IP65/IP67 and can be operated within a -40°C to +80°C range making them highly suited to measurements under very challenging ambient conditions outside the laboratory.

ULTILINE ADAPTIVE gives Eisele the decisive competitive edge. The modular kit for individually configurable and robust multiple connectors sets new standards for tool changing and prototyping. The perfectly compatible modular design also allows flexible integration of different diameters, connection types and media in the connector. If the requirements change, the connector can easily be adapted by hand, without the use of tools.

M

The MULTILINE ADAPTIVE from Eisele is a highly reliable multiple connector for connecting functional groups to machines. The advantages apply during system installation, maintenance and repairs: this world innovation can significantly reduce installation expense and set-up times. Due to a completely modular system in which all single components are mutually compatible, this system is much more advanced than previous solutions. After selecting a base body consisting of a plug and socket and defining the number of connections

and their maximum outer diameter based on the hole pattern, the ADAPTIVE inserts allow the user to combine exactly those connections that are needed for a particular application. Changes or modifications can easily be made later within minutes.

Fast and easy connection

ADAPTIVE inserts can be configured as needed, regardless of hose sizes and material. Multiple materials (aluminium, stainless steel, brass), different diameters and different shut-off functions and seals make the system a genuine modular kit. MULTILINE ADAPTIVE is therefore ideal for prototyping and special machine engineering. Especially for batch sizes of 1 to 10 items, the prefabricated standard components allow individual and low-cost configuration of the required multiple connectors. This completely innovative and flexible concept makes MULTILINE ADAPTIVE different from all other multiple connectors. The ADAPTIVE inserts are pushed by hand into the robust and space-saving base body of the MULTILINE ADAPTIVE until they unmistakably lock into position.

One connector for all media Thanks to the fully modular principle it is possible to combine such different connections as pneumatics, gases, coolants, fluids and even push-in connections for electric and electronic cables in a single interface. The size of the connections is variable, since they are integrated in the ADAPTIVE inserts, which have a standard outer dimension. To change a push-in connection, only the ADAPTIVE insert on both sides of the connection has to be exchanged. Thanks to the modular system, warehousing is minimised. ADAP- TIVE inserts are available with and without shut-off and in drip-free versions, for safe connection and disconnection also under pressure. Reductions of the hose diameter can also be achieved within the connector. ADAPTIVE inserts are based on the time-proven Eisele plug-in fittings with a release sleeve. The connected hose ends can therefore simply be pushed all the way into the release sleeve of the adaptive insert. Tools or adaptation of the hose are not necessary.
