BESPOKE TRACEABILITY SYSTEMS FOR CHINA’S AEROSPACE INDUSTRY
Pryor Marking Technology is marking its presence in China by exhibiting for the first time at the China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China) in November. Pryor is a world leading marking, identification and traceability solutions provider from Sheffield with 165 years of experience. The company plans to bring these skills and knowledge from its dominant position in the UK aerospace industry to expand its presence in China following the Chinese government’s recent decision to expand its aerospace force. Pryor has worked with the aerospace industry for over 95 years and began installing robotic vision systems for a leading aerospace giant over a decade ago. “Traceability is a critical part of the
modern manufacturing process, especially in the safety critical aerospace and automotive sectors,” explains technical director David Ray. “We believe that by working closely
with our customers to develop bespoke systems that meet their specific needs we have played a key role in their ongoing success.”
ROBOTIC ARMS SUPPORT LEAN AUTOMATION
Expanding its range of cost-effective modular robolink systems igus introduces the robolink D direct drive articulated arm – a tougher, more durable solution compared with remote drive versions – supporting lean automation. Typical robotic applications are repetitive tasks such as on assembly lines and pick-and-place equipment. To support this the robolink D system is completely modular due to the direct drive situated within each joint which helps achieve significant cost savings. The new robolink is driven by a worm
Off the back of one of the most successful years in its history Pryor Marking technology is looking for new markets to which it can apply and develop its technology further and continues to look for ways to supply the factories of the future.

C-PART MANAGEMENT OPTIMISES WORK FLOW
item’s Work Bench System is said to be the basis for comprehensive ergonomic design in working environments. It takes a great deal of strain off personnel and helps them keep fit and healthy. In addition, investing in an employee- friendly working environment makes sound economic sense. Motivated workers deliver higher productivity and illness rates are reduced. Only recently the item Work Bench System was awarded the AGR seal of approval by Aktion Gesunder Rücken (Campaign for Healthy Backs), the first
complete system to carry it. A neat solution for small parts and tools, the storage system ensures that all items have their perfect place at the work bench. Its intelligent fastening system makes it easy to configure and reconfigure – a clear, well organised working environment. The C-part management system from
item supports an optimised workflow both at assembly work stations and throughout plants as a whole. The optimised easy-grab system for separating out individual C-parts integrates seamlessly into intralogistics processes. Thanks to compatibility with industry-standard semi-open fronted boxes, the system can be used to implement Kanban-based logistics operations. This holistic approach ensures that boxes are refilled quickly from the supply side. Both the storage solution and the new C-parts management system are compatible with all elements in the item product range and can be integrated into existing industry solutions.

gear drive and a NEMA 17 or 23 stepper motor directly in the joint; these can be easily controlled using any commercially available control module. Based on self- lubricating iglidur PRT slewing ring bearings, robolink D system is available in three sizes which can be combined to create articulated arms from one to as many as six Degrees Of Freedom. The maintenance and corrosion-free
bearings of the robolink D makes it equally suitable to a variety of applications including humanoid robots for explosive equipment handling.
