He also attended the colleges now known as John Tarleton University and the University of Louisiana. During World War II, Moody volunteered for the U.S. Marine Corps. He served aboard the USS Birmingham (CL-62) for more than 3 years in the Pacifi c. Moody is survived by his wife of 52 years, Darlene Hendricks Moody; 3 daughters, 1 son; 1 stepdaughter; and numerous other relatives. animal science at Texas A&M University, died Sept. 3 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Originally from MarÍlia, São Paulo, Brazil, Amstalden joined the animal science department in 2006 as an as- sistant professor and was promoted to associate pro- fessor in 2013. At the time of his death, he was serving as chair of the interdisciplinary faculty of reproductive biology at Texas A&M and had served as a member of the executive committee since 2007. Amstalden is survived by his wife, Katia, and 2 daughters. Margaret Ann “Peggy” Thompson, 76, died Oct. 5, at her home. She was born May 24, 1938, in Hous-

She graduated from Denton High School and went on to graduate from Trinity University in 3 years with her bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1959. In June 1959, she and Chaunce O. Thompson Jr. mar- ried and settled in Breckenridge. Chaunce Thompson is a past president of Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) and their son Jim is a member of the TSCRA board. Peggy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Breckenridge for 55 years, serving as teacher, choir member and church treasurer. She served on the Breckenridge Library Board, was president of the Woman’s Forum and was on the board of the Presbyterian Children’s Services in Waxahachie. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Chaunce; sons Hub and his wife Lisa, Dallas; Jim and his wife Diana, and Will and his wife Paige, all of Breckenridge; 10 grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
