Sam Marles adds more Volvos Sam Marles, proprietor of Sam Marles Plant Hire based at Woodbury Salterton near Exeter has endorsed his initial experiences dealing with Volvo’s utility dealer Plant & Engineering Services two years ago by ordering a new ECR25D zero swing excavator and an ECR88D reduced swing excavator for his hire and contracting business. “The majority of our work is contracting to Western Power Distribution which

means we have to be ready to react to demand 24 hours a day, seven days a week and that’s just not possible unless you have good machine reliability and sound back up from the local dealer,” explains Sam. “I’ve been impressed with the support from Plant & Engineering Services which helped me decide to opt for the Volvo brand once again,” he continues. The ECR25D has an operating weight of 2.5 tonnes and can give a maximum

reach of up to 4.77 meters and a dig depth of 2.96 metres. The larger ECR88D features a Volvo Tier IIIB 2.6 litre engine a closed centre load sensing hydraulic system for fast cycle times and offers a generous horizontal reach of 7.3 metres. Volvo Construction Equipment Division markets wheeled loaders, articulated

haulers, hydraulic excavators, graders, Volvo utility and road machinery products in the U.K. There are eight strategically placed customer support centres and a network of utility equipment dealers to ensure high quality customer support is maintained throughout Great Britain.
