Another
thing that also struck me about the crowds of end user visitors was the variety of trades and skills represented. I spoke to tradespeople from various EU countries including some very

who not only drove hard bargains but also knew exactly what they wanted from their power tools in
particular. They didn’t always choose the mainstream brands or the cheapest options – reinforcing my view that the tool trade is a wide and varied one with room for many niches and levels of quality. It is definitely not one size fits all. I didn’t brave the burger vans outside, but the in-hall catering is pretty
Trend’s concept of the specialist Trend Router Centre was being royally reinforced. Independent tool
retailers take note. Draper, ToolBank, Rollins, Wera and Irwin all had big stands upstairs and again
there was a brisk trade going on – the queues of buyers didn’t seem to diminish much until nearly the end of the day.
Metabo –D and M show “Once again Metabo had a strong presence at the annual D&M tool show. The stand experienced a busy three days with plenty of interest shown in the deals on offer. In particular the TS254 table saw and KGS216 mitre saw promotions proved very popular. It was also encouraging to see many users taking advantage of Metabo’s Pick ‘n’ Mix concept to add to their Metabo cordless tool collection. Overall there was a good atmosphere around the stand all show with the team leaving feeling very satisfied with their contribution to the whole event.”
good too and very reasonable. So, just next year’s Show to look forward too. I just wonder how it is that D and M manages to control the weather – I haven’t been to a wet D and M show yet!
Trend – D and M show Everyone at Trend really looks forward to this exhibition every year. It’s a great event for the users to come see all the latest tools and talk to the suppliers about their current and future requirements and for us to show our wares. For those users having to use tools for a living, visiting for a few hours really is
time well spent and over the years, this show just keeps getting better and better. As well as being free to get in and park there are always plenty of special offers and savings to be made for visitors. During our days on the stand we often have end-users making purchases of
products that they were able to see demonstrated. This gives a great opportunity to see for themselves the time saving benefits that our products offer, helping improve productivity and quality of finish, a win win for all. This year we
were delighted to give away £800 worth of routers to one lucky visitor to the show. With over one thousand entrants this year the competition was extremely popular.
