P64 P52 P8 Hello to you if you picked up

this issue at Euro Attractions Show (EAS) in Amsterdam. Park World is the original international magazine for theme park and attractions professionals, and it’s great to have you on board. If you don’t already receive a regular copy, then please contact us below, or look out for the free app on the Google Play or Apple App Store. EAS continues to go from strength to strength and it’s great to be back in the Netherlands, where there is a strong contingent of both amusement park and attractions suppliers and operators. Over the page you can get a taste of current concerns in the country from Club van Elf chairwoman Mascha van Till-Taminiau. One of the most challenging issues this year was the weather, as is often inevitable in the outdoor amusement industry. But at Mascha’s park, Walibi Holland, “the weather is never a reason to complain and no argument for not achieving budget. Running an amusement park includes being able to deal with bad weather and to anticipate it.” In many European countries this a very sensible approach to take.

This issue features stories from across the continent, from the south of Spain right over to Russia. We’ve also got an exclusive interview with Yann Caillère, the new CEO of Parques Reunidos, which over the last decade has expanded from being a local Spanish operator to a global player, finishing last year as number six in the world rankings of the big park groups. Read about Mr Caillère‘s plans to return to the number four position – or higher – on page 42.
