Azteca Hotel Chessington’s new place to stay

The British park Chessington World of Adventures, one of three Merlin- operated properties near London, consolidated its resort status recently with the opening of a second on-site hotel. The Chessington Azteca Hotel comes complete with 69 themed bedrooms, a new Savannah Splash water play zone, leisure club and a temple-themed restaurant. Set across three floors, guests can choose to stay in a room full of discovery, go on a quest to find some temple treasure or embark on an expedition to the Temple Summit rooms. There’s an entertainment programme exclusively for hotel guests, and at dusk young guests can play amongst real life monkeys and other wonderful animals as they follow the trail through the AMAZU Treetop Adventure.

Connected to the existing Chessington Safari Hotel via a link bridge, views are available across the park’s Wanyama Reserve where Grevy Zebras, Rothschild Giraffes, Ostriches, Scimitar Horned Oryx and a whole host of other African animals roam. It’s enough to make visitors feel like they’ve been transported out of Surrey and right into Africa!

Azteca Hotel packages start from £199 for two adults and up to three kids ages 12 and under. For that the group gets an overnight stay, breakfast and two day entry to Chessington World of Adventures Resort including the zoo, amusement park and Sea Life centre, plus early ride access. Together with the Safari Hotel, it’s the perfect “base camp” for a family adventure at Chessington!

Cinecittà World and

Cinecittà Studios Following our feature last month on the new Cinecittà World in Rome, chairman Emmanuel Goût has asked us to clarify that the park is built on the site of the former Dino de Laurentiis Studios and not Cinecittà Studios, which are located elsewhere in the Italian capital and still function as a production facility. We’re happy to put the record straight, especially as it gives us chance to run another photo of this beautifully-designed park, themed by Dante Ferretti. Seen here is the station area to its 10 inversion Inatmin coaster.
