New bulkhead fittings T

he latest products in the icotek cable management equipment range is the new Confix FWS bulkhead fittings which are now available from M Buttkereit Ltd. These products facilitate a 90º entry of cabling enclosed in protective conduit sheaths for attachment to machines, control panels and wiring cabinets etc. A simplified method of attachment and positive closure ensures time saving during cabling operations. All the fittings incorporate a captive hinged cover and are designed to accommodate threaded conduits in six metric sizes of M16, M20, M25, M32, M40 and M50, together with parallel grooved conduits in sizes NW13, 17, 23, 29, 37 and 50.


The Confix FWS bulkhead fittings are manufactured from Polycarbonate and can be supplied in two colours black (RAL 9005) and grey (RAL 7011). This material has a flame class of UL 94 V-0 and is self- extinguishing as well as being both Halogen and silicone free.

New contract for Ausgrid power grid upgrades in Sydney worth €30m


approximately €30m (AUD $ 44m) for 132 kV underground high voltage cables for the North Shore cable upgrade project by Ausgrid, a State Owned Utility of New South Wales (Australia) managing distribution and transmission assets. The award comes on the back of a separate smaller related contract (“Engadine”) awarded in September 2013 worth approximately € 5m (AUD $ 8m). “We are proud to work with Ausgrid on this important project”, says Frederick Persson CEO of Prysmian Group in Australia & New Zealand. “This new contract has a strategic importance for Prysmian. configurations for types J,K,E,T,N,U and Vx colour coded to IEC-584-3. Alternative colours to BS1843, ANSI and JIS are also available. Insulations include PFA, PVC, PTFE, Polyurethane,


glassfibre and stainless steel overbraided glassfibre. The PFA and PTFE insulated cables are all of Class 1 tolerance to ensure high accuracy measurements. Cables for PRT sensors are available with single and duplex conductors and a wide range of insulation types including Silicone Rubber.


New Exd cable glands for hazardous areas from Kopex-Ex

Approved to a wide range of international standards, including EN/IEC 60079 and offering IP 66 and IP 68 protection, these glands can be used in hazardous area Zones 1,2 21 and 22. A comprehensive range of cable sizes can be accommodated. In introducing the new glands, Kopex-Ex has addressed a number of key requirements. The design now includes a simple flick on overcone to accommodate cable, steel wire armour or braid and keep installation times to a minimum. The internal design of the gland has been improved so that cable can be threaded through more easily and retained firmly in place.
