Simple PC configuration of WAGO transducers
ew PC configuration software from WAGO enables even easier management of its JUMPFLEX® range of interface components. A more user-friendly alternative to DIP switches,
N the
program is free of charge and runs on all 32- or 64- bit Windows PCs. Communication between the PC and the JUMPFLEX® components is established via the USB cable (750-923), or the Bluetooth® adapter (750-921). The interface configuration software detects
connected modules automatically.
The graphic user interface is clearly laid out and easy to use. Frequently used commands can be reached directly through a main menu at the top of the dialog window.
Current data is read out, modified
and then read back into the device at the click of a button. Process values are also conditioned and displayed as a trend curve. All of the parameters can be saved and used for other JUMPFLEX® devices of the same type. In the Offline mode, transducers can even be configured when they are not connected.

machinery, to supply a reliable measurement solution. A reliable sensor was required to measure the position of 10 individual cutting blades located within the machines high-speed rotating drum, whose position was currently being fed back by linear potentiometers, over a 50mm movement. The 60mm sensor is unaffected by the dusty and high vibration conditions and provided the key benefits necessary for the application. Featuring Inductive technology and designed with no-contact between the sensor housing and activator, the sensor provides unparalleled

reliability highly dusty environments. In addition to the proven durability and accuracy of the sensors, the sensors provide a fit and forget installation without the need for re-engineering. 10 Gill position sensors are now installed as standard to the blade assembly of the tobacco cutting machinery, enhancing the reliability and reputation of the customer and its products.

ABB drive gives more reliable damper testing for Wabtec Rail Q
loads when vehicles come together.
The company tests around 560 dampers a week, ranging in size from 30 to 120 cm in length. The application took a week to install, with Wabtec undertaking some of the mechanical work itself. Wabtec benefits through a more accurate speed control, the ability to reach the set point speed instantaneously, higher reliability and little maintenance. The system can also be upgraded to allow networking or the addition of an electronic data logger.

EPIV a valve with four functions from Belimo B
elimo now offers the EPIV pressure- independent characterised control valve in the nominal diameters DN 15 to DN 150. This extends the fields of application of this innovative, electronically controlled valve. Because of the fact that it combines the four functions of measuring, controlling, hydraulic balancing and air bubble tight-closing,
in one ready-to-install unit, its
utilization enhances efficiency during planning, implementation and operation. The integrated electronic flow control ensures that the required volumetric flow is secured.
The respective measured values can be called up as real time information. The EPIV can be operated with medium temperatures from -10˚C to +120˚C and with a system pressure (ps) of 1600 kPa. Both conventional communication and communication via the Belimo MP bus is possible with all types.
