customer requirements at a competitive price. Three wattages are available as built-in or surface mounted versions, all sharing the same product characteristics. This diversity of devices means that the TEC series can be used with a wide range of spotlight and downlight applications. The lifetime of the devices has been designed to meet the typical requirements of shop, hotel and office lighting. At an ambient temperature of 50 C the lifetime of the control gear is 30,000 hours, rising to 50,000 hours at an ambient temperature of 40°C. The control gear is initially available in 20 W, 35 W and 65 W versions. Depending on the wattage, different versions are available for operating currents from 350 mA to 1750 mA.

The innovative new idea originated from the Operations Manager, Dan Duckworth, who realised that the majority of consumer units are installed out of site in dark places in homes, such as in cupboards. Thus, when a circuit trips, unless there is a torch handy, it can be almost impossible to identify the MCB, RCD or RCBO that has failed.
The LED strip ensures that the householder no longer has to ‘scramble in the dark’ to re-set the
source of the power failure. Instead they can simply open the MCB cover, light up the unit and re-set the power in no time.
‘We are genuinely excited with the LED consumer unit and how simple it is to use and maintain. As an addition to our existing quality product range it will help home owners overcome the struggle of resetting their power in the dark’ explained CPN-Cudis Business Manager Peter O’Neill. ‘Also it is powered by an easy to access standard battery that the home owner can replace without requiring an electrical contractor’.
The solution is also versatile to order, either as part of a new CPN-Cudis consumer unit or as a simple LED strip that can be retro-fitted onto an installed consumer unit.
CPN-Cudis has 17th Edition qualified electricians on hand to assist installers and wholesalers with technical issues over the telephone.

DANLERS release new Energy Saving Microwave Controls
D
ANLERS Microwave Controls are the ideal, low cost, energy saving solution, for organisations demanding a reduction in their energy costs. We have now introduced two new IP67 rated Microwave presence detector switches for the automatic control of lighting, heating and air conditioning loads. The IP67 rated enclosures make them ideal for use in car parks, warehouses, factories and wash-down areas etc. The sensor detects movement by emitting low power microwave signals and measuring the reflections as the signal
reflects off moving objects, such as people moving through a room. When movement is detected the load switches ON. If no more movement is detected within a certain time, then the control will switch the load OFF. This time can be set via the internal dip switches. View our new! range of energy saving controls at NICEIC Live South 2014, 15 May, Epsom Downs Racecourse.
