Riello UPS Ltd protects customers with certified engineer scheme
iello UPS Ltd has launched a Certified Engineer Programme to combat the growing number of ‘rogue traders’ claiming to be qualified to provide maintenance services on the manufacturer’s critical power protection systems. The introduction of Riello Cerified Engineer status is designed to protect customers who require third party servicing and approved spares for their UPS. The initiative also supports Riello resellers who are committed to ensuring that their engineers undertake the relevant training. Leo Craig, general manager, Riello UPS Limited, said: “Several other UPS manufacturers have chosen to tackle the problem of unauthorised maintenance by instigating ‘closed protocol’ systems whereby the units are locked out to anyone other than themselves. “We chose not to take this approach because we felt that it would stifle competition in the market. Instead, we’ve created a comprehensive network of qualified service partners – all of whom are trained and qualified to work on Riello UPS – which we hope will offer our customers the reassurance they need.” Engineers from resellers that successfully complete training on the commissioning, maintenance and servicing of Riello UPS are allocated a unique identification number. Customers can use this number to search a dedicated website –
www.riello-engineer.co.uk – to verify the individual’s certification status and core competencies.
