PRODUCTS CABLING & CABLE MANAGEMENT
PREVENTING TRIPS
To minimise the safety hazards caused by trailing cables, the new Tidi-Strip offers a simple way to attach cables to walls, removing the risk of people tripping over them and injuring themselves. Tidi-Strip comes in one metre units
allowing the user to cut pieces to the required length. Simply peel off the wax paper back to reveal the specially engineered self-adhesive foam which will stick to any surface. Pull on the grip tab to release the hook and loop fastener, add up to five cables and re- fasten. Once you’ve finished on-site, simply peel the product from the wall. Each metre of Tidi-Strip can hold up
to 100m of temporary cable and adheres to the wall, eliminating the need for screws or nails. The business won the Loughborough University Dragons’ Innovation Award and the Potter Clarkson Intellectual Property Development Award in 2013.

Enter 222 New guide to cable trunking
Marshall-Tufflex has outlined ten of its Cat 6 compliant cable containment systems in a new quick reference guide. The Marshall-Tufflex ‘Cat 6
Compliant Trunking Systems’ guide includes measurements, cable capacities and bend radius details for each of the profiles, including the Odyssey all- curved profile, Twin 165 (which provides greater space for data cabling), to the extra high capacity Sterling XL. For each the brochure gives cable
capacities, dimensions, bend radius control (25mm or 50mm), a short description and images. The company believes it has a well designed, hard wearing and
installer friendly solution for almost any job requiring Cat 6 perimeter trunking able to handle large amounts of data and power cabling. Marshall-Tufflex’s systems have features including 50mm power/data separation and steel screening dividers, to BS EN 50174-2, copper spray screening with no loss of compartment capacity, adjustable depth data boxes and Cat 6 data outlets. All systems are made of 100% recyclable materials. “Accommodating the increasing performance levels of current
and future data networks is critical to the success of many projects,” said Jeremy Dodge, head of marketing and technical services at Marshall-Tufflex. “Our Cat 6 compliant solutions not only meet the needs of today but also offer the flexibility for reconfiguration tomorrow, making them a wise choice. With such a wide range to select from we are confident there’s a Marshall- Tufflex Cat 6 solution for most applications.” The brochure is available to download from the Marshall- Tufflex website or by calling its Customer Services Team.

CONDUIT FOR RAIL INDUSTRY
To make it easier to secure flexible conduit as part of a modular cable protection system, a new range of heavy duty conduit fixing clamps has been launched by Flexicon. The F-Clamps are well suited for
applications where conduit is subjected to high stresses, movement and/or vibration. Available for use with flexible
conduit diameters from 16-80mm, the product is in two halves, which can be bolted together to secure and clamp the conduit. A central rib in the clamp fixes the corrugated conduit, preventing longitudinal movement and any risk that the conduit will be pulled through. The clamping system has been designed for compatibility with

Stauff products and accessories, thus offering a modular clamping solution for corrugated conduit. The F-Clamps can be used individually or stacked when used with weld plates and cover plates, which are also available from Flexicon as accessories. When stacking there are a number of mounting possibilities to offer a modular mounting arrangement to secure multiple flexible conduit runs. Constructed from PA66 the
clamps are halogen-, sulphur- and phosphorous-free and are a Low Fire Hazard product suitable for use with Flexicon’s corrugated range of non-metallic flexible conduits in either fine or coarsepitch derivatives. The clamps are suitable for
outdoor use and offer UV resistance and high impact resistance. They can be used in temperatures from -50°C to 135°C.

Turck Banner has extended its range of passive junction boxes. As well as standard junction boxes with 4-, 6- and 8-input connectors and a multi-pole cable output, the customer will also be able to find two active IO-Link variants. The IO-Link junction boxes
combine 16 switching status elements in a 16-bit IO-Link signal, thus bringing 16 switching signals from the machine to the control cabinet via a single standard cable. Instead of assigning each signal
to the individual wire of an M23 master cable, terminating and routing them into the control cabinet with expensive multi-pole cables, the IO-Link junction box only requires a single standard M12
cable. The signals can come, for example, from proximity switches, pushbutton actuators, optical switches or also temperature sensors with a switch output. The use of the junction boxes is particularly recommended when a large number of signals have to be routed from the machine to the control cabinet. Like the other standard passive
junction boxes, the IO-Link junctions are provided with LEDs that indicate the switching status of each individual input. The junction boxes can be connected to PNP or NPN LED circuits. The passive junction boxes are available from Turck as 4-, 6- and 8-channel versions. The outputs of the devices are available with a straight female connector, side female connector or fixed cable output in two or ten metre lengths.

CABLE TYPES OVER 230
The CFRIP range from igus has been extended to include over 230 cable types. The CFRIP is a solution for stripping cables in which the outer jacket can be stripped to the desired length simply by pulling the special CFRIP cord. Along with chainflex CF5 PVC
control cables, where the CFRIP cord is in the outer jacket, and the shielded version chainflex CF6, where the cord is in the inner jacket, CFRIP is now integrated in the CF130 and CF140 control cable family, as well as the entire motor cable range. As with all products in the
chainflex family, CFRIP is tested for millions of cycles of movement in e-chains for assured reliability in dynamic applications.
