24 ACR Awards

Product Distributor/Wholesaler of the Year

COOL DESIGNS was crowned Distributor of the Year with the trophy being presented to Darrel Birkett, CDL’s founder and managing director. The judges praised CDL’s vision and commitment to becoming the first carbon neutral air conditioning supplier in the UK.

Mr Birkett said: “It is obviously very pleasing to once again receive recognition by one’s peers in the industry. I am also delighted that our success is not just a flash in the pan, but reflects a winning formula that we have evolved and built into the company’s approach over a number of years. “We believe commercial success can go hand-in-hand with environmental concern and community involvement. Indeed, I believe it is not only desirable but essential to act responsibly and do the right thing. The growth of CDL in recent years proves that this approach can create a virtuous circle.

“However, we will not be resting on our laurels. We have plans in hand to further grow the company in the future, and build on the strong foundation we have established.”

Consultant of the Year

STEVE GILL Associates picked up the Consultant of the Year Award which was presented by host Lenny Henry, and Annemarie Schaal of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

The company has completed several projects this last year, and has more in progress within the UK as well as abroad. It has expanded and developed specialist areas dedicated to fine-tuning services, and still continues to be actively involved in the wider industry.

“Winning the ACR News ‘Consultant of the Year’ is something very special,” said Steve Gill. “The Awards exist to recognise the best that this industry has and it is very humbling to be judged by my peers to have met the high standards required to win. The standard rises each year so it is a wonderful feeling to have won again. Any success we have must be shared with our loyal customers without whom we would not be able to continue to develop and grow.”

Annemarie Schaal of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries commented: “We are very pleased for them as they have contributed outstanding services throughout the years to the air- conditioning and refrigeration industry”.
