Mfg4 2014 Show Preview Swiss-Style Turning
The iSPeed3 series of Swiss-style turning machine spindles have sensorless motors, a compact footprint, diameters of 19.05–25 mm, and can machine at speeds of 1000–80,000 rpm. Based on work-envelope requirements, the spindles can have either right-angle wiring or wiring that exits directly out
of the back of the unit. Designed to use up to a 4-mm collet (1/8" or 3.175-mm collet standard), the air-cooled motor can meet a wide range of machining requirements and may be supplied in over 15 different varieties, including self-contained flange mounts. NSK America Ph: 800-585-4675

Compact CMM
The Micura CMM is a compact, bridge-type CMM that features precision scanning technology with the Vast XT gold active scanning sensor. The Micura system offers 0.7µ + L/400 accuracy with low probing force and is suitable for measure- ments of small and intricate parts often required in the optical, electronic, medical, aerospace and telecommunica- tion industries. This CMM has
the accuracy to measure delicate parts such as optics and disk drive components while maintaining efficiency. Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology LLC Ph: 800-327-9735

Delcam’s Vortex high-efficiency area-clearance strategy for fast, safe metal re- moval, allowing solid carbide tooling to cut
with its full flute length to minimize machining times. Vortex toolpaths use a controlled engagement angle between the cutter and the part to give a more consistent volume-removal rate and feed rate, minimizing wear on the cutter. PowerMILL 2014 R2 improves the ordering of the Vortex toolpaths to minimize lifts and air moves, increasing overall efficiency. Delcam plc

EDM Spindle
The new high-speed
H42R.MRS002 Mini Spindle is low-pro- file submersible EDM spindle that offers higher speeds than previous models and more mounting flexibility. The spindle is programmable via the Hirschmann
H1625.AC4 control that allows both high- speed rotation from 1 to 4000 rpm and indexing accuracies of 0.05°. Com- munication with the EDM control is through a 24V inter- face. Workpiece diameters up to 10 mm are precisely held using the company’s patented H42-JMRS adjustable element system that allows radial and axial runout within 0.001 mm. The
H42R.MRS002 spindle can be mounted directly to the machine table or by using the palletizing System 4000 that allows easy removal and remounting. Hirschmann Engineering USA Inc. Ph: 847-468-9700
