Precision Test Bars CAT 40 and CAT 50 precision test bar selection has been expanded to include solutions for BT and HSK spindles as well. Precision test bars are gage quality holders used in CNC machine setup to analyze and adjust machine spindles until they run square and true. With- out a Briney Precision Test Bar there is no sure way of know- ing the spindle’s condition and the most overlooked cause of machine tool runout stems from wear of the spindle bearings. For every 0.0001" (0.003-mm) TIR removed from the cutting
operation, tool life may be increased up to 10%. Therefore, regular inspection of your machine spindle is recommended to ensure production stability. Precision test bars are certified with actual dimensions etched on test bars; bar concentric to taper within 0.0002" (0.005-mm) TIR. Briney Tooling Systems Ph: 800-752-8035 Web site:

SolidWorks Inspection SolidWorks Inspection consists of a stand-alone application and a SolidWorks add-in that enables users to leverage their legacy data regardless of whether they are SolidWorks files, PDFs or TIFFs. SolidWorks Inspection Professional extends SolidWorks Inspection capabilities by providing users with multiple ways to enter measured values directly into an inspection project. Each characteristic’s value can be entered by manually typing them in, using a digital caliper or importing CMM results. SolidWorks Inspection is a simple and intuitive application that reduces the time needed to create inspection documentation by up to 90%, and virtually eliminates errors inherent to any manual process, thus improving quality and reducing time to market. SolidWorks Mechanical Conceptual, gives you an instinctive, powerful modeling environment fo- cused on the four key elements of conceptual design: concep- tual, instinctive, social, and connected. Tool Spindle Performance Analyzer Spindle Error Analyzer (SEA) helps engineers, designers, and maintenance personnel measure, track and troubleshoot machine tool spindle performance. Machine tools expected to manufacture precision parts with reduced chance of scrap are depen- dent on spindle performance. Error motions of the spindle translate directly into errors
in the manufactured part including errors in form, roundness, feature location, and surface finish. Using the SEA, spindles can be tested for synchronous error motions, asynchronous error motions and thermal displacement in X, Y, and Z axes. All the tests are performed in accordance with ANSI and ISO
