PRODUCTS EXHIBITION PREVIEW ECO-FRIENDLY FILTRATION
HIGH SPEED, ACCELERATION AND ACCURACY
On stand 5360 FANUC UK will demonstrate higher speed, faster acceleration, increased accuracy and the resultant reduced cycle times offered through its latest generation of CNC controller, the 31 i-B5 control system. ROBODRILL - DiA series vertical machining centres will be used to illustrate operation cycle times and finish on real components. Further illustrating the power of the common control

t MACH 2014 (stand 5245) acs (Air Cleaning Systems) will exhibit equipment to reflect the two halves of its business, with industrial air cleaners for coolant mist
control and downdraught filter benches for dust control. With regard to its industrial air cleaners for coolant mist control, the range will be represented by the OMF1000 model. This air cleaner is a free standing unit designed to connect directly to a machine tool via a non-leak duct system. By employing this system, customers can achieve energy savings through the small motors that achieve maximum filtration capacity. From the downdraught filter bench range for dust control, acs will be exhibiting the
FBS model. This downdraught filter bench is a seated model and provides an ergonomic and practical solution to the problem of controlling and removing airborne dust (or fume) generated by fettling, sanding, deburring, polishing and finishing applications. Acs also manufactures a subsidiary dust control range of downdraught filter benches for solvent and gluing applications to ensure the end user requirements are fully met. Like the OMF range, the reduced energy consumption and environmental
credentials of the FBS model is achieved by supplying an inverter control that is fitted as standard to regulate the fan speed and guarantee low power consumption. Additionally, the FBS can incorporate an optional automatic power down function after a pre-programmed time interval and an optional air control unit that enables the operator to work with air powered tools with an automatic power-down function that triggers when air tools are not being used. Furthermore, maintenance costs are reduced as no service contract is required for the FB range of downdraught filter benches, and the filter gauges provide a real time indication of remaining filter life.

platform, FANUC robots will illustrate flexibility and ease of integration with ROBODRILL machines. Centre stage will be the recently launched FANUC ROBODRILL -DiA series vertical machining centre integrated with a FANUC LRMate robot loading and unloading a machined component. Now offering standard and high power spindle versions, improved chip discharging, thermal displacement compensation and higher resolution axis feed, the ROBODRILL focuses on features that reduce cycle times, improve surface finish and increase accuracy. To illustrate cycle time
reduction a ROBODRILL machine will also cycle through the machining of an automotive crankcase. A range of FANUC CNC controllers will be demonstrated including the Power Motion i-Model A for motion control of a wide range of OEM and machine builder applications where positioning and high performance PLC functions are required.

WORKING EXHIBITS ON SHOW NEW BAR TURNERS
Heason Technology (stand D192) will demonstrate positioning mechanics and motion system design, manufacture and assembly with a series of working exhibits that bring together products and components from many of its distribution
partners as complete motion systems. These include a concept rotary actuator that delivers Ethernet from fixed to rotating sections through an integral slip ring assembly and a multi-axis demonstrator that combines linear and rotary direct drive motors in a display of tightly synchronised motion. The concept high precision rotary actuator combines servo
motor, gear unit, high resolution rotary encoder and slip ring components and could be applied to several application areas within aerospace, defence or other industries where high precision high torque rotary motion is required with feed through of power, instrumentation, high bandwidth fieldbus or RF level signals. These might include target tracking, antenna positioning, inertial sensor testing or be part of multi-axis pick and place machines with integrated vision or sensor systems. Heason will also be demonstrating a selection of motion products and components from its range.

To improve the productivity and set-up times for bar turners at MACH 2014, Hydrafeed will be introducing its new MSV65 barfeeding system on stand 5030. The new MSV65 and the larger MSV80 will both be receiving their exhibition debut at MACH 2014. Both the new MSV80 and MSV65 barfeeding systems will be introduced at MACH alongside established products such as the MV65 barfeed, the MX1B, the X-Tract and RotaRack units. For end users looking for a new
barfeeding solution, the new MSV65 incorporates a range of standard features. For example, the new MSV65 offers complete servo control on all axis with precision ground servo driven ball screws. The ball screws utilise the same
technology that is incorporated into high end machine tools, resulting in a barfeeding system with a positional accuracy of 0.1mm. Additionally, this servo-driven system eradicates the need for compressed air. With a bar diameter range of 5-65mm and bar length capacities from 200- 1,550mm, the MSV65 is not strictly

limited by these dimensions with bespoke solutions available to suit individual demands. The MSV65 incorporates a new bar loading mechanism that ensures the bars are ‘soft’ loaded from the storage magazine onto the rollers to provide minimum friction. Furthermore, this enables customers to load irregular bar shapes. This technology prolongs the service life of the MSV65 whilst giving the end user greater flexibility. Additional standard features on the MSV65 include a push-rod back-stop facility, a barfeed or shaft loading system and a bar length measurement with the ability to accept random bar lengths.
