“Watching the Sochi Games and seeing all the individual stories of success is driving me to train more, harder and with greater dedication. I’ve earned confi dence through them. I know with the right mixture of hard work, desire, vision of success, and trust in my abilities, I can be part of Team USA again in 2016.

The most inspiring for me was watching the personal stories of some of the great athletes on Team USA, especially those, who fell, but found strength to stand up, train harder than before, and be among the best athletes in the world again. Behind every success story and medal, was a personal story of sacrifi ce, pain, and extremely hard work.”

“Watching the Winter Olympics brings back all of the goose bumps I felt as a child. When training is diffi cult and our Games seem so far away, it’s wonderful to see that they are only as far as our dreams. I love watching new sports, cheering on teammates, and recalling the decades of tradition rooted in excellence. The Olympics have become more exhilarating as I now appreciate the extraordinary hours of preparation to have just one shot at one moment. I think to myself, ‘Am I truly ready? What must it feel like to really know at that moment that it is yours?’ And then I weigh my exhaustion and daily effort against that feeling.”

“I instantly felt the excitement and energy in my living room just watching the Games on TV, as I did when I was in London. I also see athletes in the same situation as I was, being ranked No.1 in the world going into my event and coming up short of the podium. It takes me back to my experience and yet again fl ames the fi re that is inside of us to train harder. I am proud of all of the Team USA athletes at the Games and feel that they have all represented us well.”

“I think my Olympic dreams started when I was in kindergarten. I was fascinated with fi gure skating to the point where my mom didn’t believe me when I said I felt sick because she thought I was trying to stay up late to keep watching the fi gure skaters on TV. But, I ended up having my appendix taken out.

Now, I watch the athletes’ awesome performances and hear and know how hard they’ve worked to get to Sochi and I get all pumped up. I just want to go shoot more, workout, or try something new to give me that edge to keep getting better so I can compete in Rio and beyond.”
