National Junior Olympic Championships Return to Colorado Springs in April


Is it that time of year again

No, we’re not talk- ing about April showers or the Easter Bunny but the 2014 Rifl e & Pistol National Junior Olym- pic Shooting Championships (NJOSC)! The frigid tempera- tures this winter caused several delays and cancellations during


Men’s Rifl e coming in to con- clude the competition April 21- 27. Both rifl e weeks will consist of an Air Rifl e and Three-Position (smallbore) competition. All of our youthful competitors must have been born in 1994 or later, providing for a junior competition that is unparalleled in the shoot- ing sports. There is a lot at stake for the

Olympic Championships are set to take place at the Olym- pic Training Center April 9-27 in Colorado Springs, Colo. The com- petition will begin with Men’s and Women’s Pistol events tak- ing place April 9-14. Upon the completion of the pistol portion, we will move into the Women’s Rifl e events April 15 - 20. Last, but certainly not least, we have


young shooters that will travel to Colorado from all corners of the country. Each event will provide two opportunities to be appoint- ed to USA Shooting’s National Junior Team. This is a remarkable opportunity for our nation’s top young shooters to gain valuable experience through different camps and international events. The pressure continues to build as these shooters come to the realization that there are poten- tial collegiate scholarships on the line in rifl e. Air Force, Akron,
