New PIR sensor from Dimplex Dimplex has introduced a new automatic passive infrared (PIR) sensor to optimise the performance of its energy efficient radiant heating solutions. Designed to work alongside new or pre-installed

radiant heaters from the Dimplex range, the discreet DX4131 sensor only activates the heater when it is needed, controlling energy consumption and delivering financial reductions on the daily running cost of the overall heating system. With the capacity

to control heating loads of up to 3kW, from a wall- or ceiling-mounted position, the unit uses adjustable

passive infrared sensing technology to detect motion from up to 12 metres away within a radius of 200 degrees.

Maximising the unit’s performance using the manual

controls further enhances the functionality of the heating system, with a choice of short or long detection ranges, time delay options ranging from five seconds to 18 minutes, and a setting to pre-determine how long the heater stays on each time motion is detected.  www.dimplex.co.uk/commercial or call 0844 879 3587.

Hochiki showcases latest life safety technology at Health & Safety Event Hochiki Europe will demonstrate the features and benefits of its cutting-edge fire detection and emergency lighting solutions at this year’s Health & Safety Event, taking place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Birmingham between 11 -13 March 2014. Visitors can see a working example of the HFP

system with Hochiki’s Enhanced Systems Protocol (ESP) devices. Hochiki’s Conventional (CDX) devices are also compatible with HFP systems, which means even the most specialist environments can be catered for. Also on

display will be the FIREscape Emergency Lighting range, which features self-contained

LED luminaires and signage that are powered via low-voltage cabling. The light emitting diode (LED) technology that the system is based around is cost- effective and environmentally friendly – it uses less than five per cent energy consumption compared with conventional lighting. Lower pricing for Fluke thermometers After the successful 2013 launch of its innovative Fluke VT02 and VT04 visual infrared (IR) thermometers, Fluke is making this product range affordable to a wider group of end users and applications. It is offering significant price reductions on the recommended sales price of both units, with the VT02 at a manufacturer’s recommended price of just £395. Impressed by their compactness, the analytical and reporting software, and features such as high and low temperature markers and the blended thermal and digital imagery, customers have purchased the tools for when a single-spot temperature reading is not enough and a high- resolution thermal image is more than is needed. The Fluke tool combines the visual insight of a thermal imager, the visual images of a digital camera, and the point-and-shoot convenience of an IR thermometer, all with focus-free simplicity. Electrical, HVAC and preventive maintenance kits containing the VT04 are also subject to significant price reductions.  www.fluke.co.uk

Better cable management by Crabtree Crabtree has introduced two new cable management solutions to its extensive range of electrical products. A compact range of PVC trunking and accessories

called COMPAK, together with a high cabling capacity range called MAXPAK that fully meet the requirements for Cat 5E, 6, 6A and 7 cables, is now available after being designed, developed and manufactured in the UK and Europe. The new Crabtree trunking has a clean, unobtrusive style that helps it blend into its surroundings and, with an open-access design, provides full cable support during cabling for both top and bottom compartments. Both variants come with truly flexible internal and

external corners to provide for the everyday reality that walls are not always 90º true. In addition, the corners offer ribbed inside supports ensuring cables are smoothly guided to prevent kinking and twisting, thus maximising data transmission performance and, importantly, presenting no capacity reduction.  www.electrium.co.uk/crabtree or call 01543 455000.
