from a Cosmos fam trip to St Anton, Austria ‘good’ first season MARKET OVERVIEW “We’ve had some great support
from the big ski agents. There’s been some frustration caused by limited allocations due to only launching in July, but that will be sorted for next year. “I think agents are pleased to see a new player in the market, and as long as we continue to provide the right product at the right price, I’m confident their support for us will keep growing.”
JAMES BOX, head of ski product and commercial analyst, Iglu “Early ski sales for this season were very strong. Tour operators are doing more and more to encourage customers to book early and the fantastic snow conditions last year certainly helped, with skiers coming back from their holidays last year keen to get something booked straight away for this season. And that means we come into January, traditionally our busiest month, in very good shape. “We cater for all skiers, from those on a very tight budget to money-no-object luxury customers and everything in between, so we try to make sure we have as wide a range of good-value and good- quality product as we can. Naturally we see a lot of first- time skiers, but they tend to go as part of a mixed-ability group, perhaps parents taking their children or a group convincing their friends to give it a go. “Winter 2014-15 is already on sale with most operators and we’ve seen another great start to sales, up on last year, which is really encouraging.”
nerves afterwards with a drink. St Anton is renowned for its fantastic après-ski and the famous Mooserwirt bar didn’t disappoint. Our Monarch flight flew in to Innsbruck, about an hour from St Anton, returning to the UK from Friedrichshafen in Germany, an hour-and-a-half from the resort.
