Registration Open for Metalcasting Congress

registration is now open for the 118th Metalcasting Congress to be held April 8-11, 2014, at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center in Schaumburg, Ill. The Metalcasting Congress is the largest annual


North American technical show in which authors and presenters reveal the latest developments in casting industry research and production case studies. The show also features a table-top exhibit and the growing Cast in North America track. Geared toward casting designers and buyers, Cast in North America consists of casting design and purchasing sessions, an exhibit floor featuring North American casting suppliers, and a display of the 2014 AFS Casting Competition winners. Other features of Metalcasting Congress include

Submissions Wanted for Annual Casting Competition


AFS and Metal Casting Design & Purchasing magazine


are seeking entries to the 2014 Casting Competition. The competition is a chance to show the engineering and purchasing community what a metal casting can accomplish. This year’s Casting of the Year will receive a free


year’s license of Magmasoft simulation software, and Best in Class winners receive six month licenses. Win- ners will be showcased at Cast in North America at the 118th Metalcasting Congress. All entries will appear in Metal Casting Design & Purchasing magazine’s “Castings in Action” and “Casting Innovations” departments. Participation is open to all North American metalcast- ers and designers/users of metal castings. Previous entries may be resubmitted. Castings are sought in all metals, cast- ing processes, end-use applications and sizes/weights. Independent judges will evaluate each entry on:


• Benefits delivered to the casting customer. • The use of the casting process’ unique capabilities. • Contribution to the growth and expansion of the casting market.
