MCV speaks to GAME Kidderminster’s manager Stuart Jones about the in-store events his team has been putting on for its community and why consumers come to this GAME rather than other retailers
Tell us about your store. There are seven of us in the GAME Kidderminster team with myself, Dave and Matt representing our management and Dom, Dan, Rikki and Conor making up the rest of our squad. Our gaming interests cover
pretty much everything from Forza to Call of Duty to League of Legends and Pokémon. You name it and we’ve played it, we even gave Barbie’s Horse Adventures a go.
PRE-ORDER CHARTS
Do you run any in-store events for your consumers? We love running events for our community in-store. We do a variety of events and try to appeal to all the diff erent types of gamers so there really is something for everyone. In the past we’ve been known to host everything from FIFA Tournaments to Mario Kart time trial contests. Our monthly Pokémon
Tournament also seems to have
gone down especially well with local trainers. Following our Pokémon
event kicking off on July 26th, the winner will take on the Elite Four challenge to be crowned the Ultimate Champion if they win.
And earlier this month we held a Minecraft event. We’re also currently looking to do something around the launch of Super Smash Bros later in the year.
