LAST year’s Ultimate Team saw the debut of the Xbox- exclusive FUT Legends: 42 esteemed players with special edition gold cards inserted at random among standard Gold card packs. This year sees the addition of 15 new Legends – with both familiar and not-so-familiar faces among the ranks. But Kuhn says that, while not all gamers will recognise every new addition, there should be no-one disappointed. “The 15 new Legends
are the ones that we really wanted in the end,” he explains. “We particularly wanted some new high- profile players. Last year we released Pelé; this year we wanted to add more players that make gamers say: ‘That’s the go-to guy, I want him so bad’. “Because it’s the second
year of the feature, we also got a lot of feedback from people. What’s cool is that sometimes there’s footballers we don’t even think about, because there’s regional markets where there’s a player that’s really famous in that territory – not the big name that everybody will look at and say ‘Oh yeah, he’s a legend’. So it’s cool to be able to cater to smaller niche markets as well.” But while Legends is
introducing some stars that may not be so well-known in the UK, there’s one name that should spark excitement among British footie fans – one of the 15 announced players is the top Premier League scorer of all time: Alan Shearer.
