Pease Auditorium, a classic concert hall on the southeast end of campus, has held countless musical events and lectures since its formal dedication in June 1915. But not many have seen the hall absent of its crowds entranced by the emanating energy from the stage. Here, we caught one of the hall’s quieter moments: a piano tuner filling the empty scene with only the abbreviated reverberations from one of the University’s 31 Steinway pianos. The inset photo shows the old orchestra pit that is underneath the Pease stage.
