DCS talks to Raritan’s Richard May, Country Manager UKI & Nordics, about the company’s solutions-led approach that is helping more and more customers understand and address inefficiencies surrounding data centre power consumption.


QWhat are the USPs that Raritan brings to the data centre market?


A Raritan has operated in the data centre market, and the rack in particular, for over 28 years, with technology installed in over 50,000 data centres. QWhat should end users look out for when looking to source intelligent PDU technology, and what is possible with iPDU


right now?


A The primary function of an intelligent PDU is to deliver power reliably 24/7/365. Hot isle temperatures are only increasing and PDU


ratings above 50°C are essential, as this dramatically affects the reliability of the PDU. The next important feature is the accuracy and richness of the data from the PDU. There are many recipients of this information, from billing to capacity planning and from risk analysis to Business Information tools. Other possibilities include WIFI, local webcam support for rack security and audit trails, asset management
