ford, CT, died July 30, 2012. An English major and student government president, she worked in Skidmore’s dean of studies office after graduation. She went on to teach in public schools in Leominster, MA, Cleveland, OH, and Washington, DC, before settling in Framingham, MA. Active in charitable and community organizations, including Framingham Union Hospital Aid Society, she also taught the Great Books program in Framingham public schools. She later worked in scholastic sales for Random House. She served Skidmore as a class agent and reunion volunteer. She is sur- vived by three sons, two daughters, and nine grandchildren. MD, died May 19. An art major, she also studied at Paterson State Teachers College and taught art prior to her marriage. She was a longtime volunteer at the Easton Art Academy and for the local historical society and hospital auxiliary. ville, NC, died May 9. An art major, she enjoyed careers in teaching, interior de - sign, and business, earning an MBA in her 60s. She was director of planned giving for Brigham and Women’s Hos pital and served with several charitable organiza- tions. She was also an accomplished artist and avid art collector. For Skidmore she was fund chair for her 50th reunion and a class agent. She is survived by her partner, Peter Gill, two sons, and a daughter. Susanne Eustis Bogart ’53 of Bruns - wick, ME, died May 22. A home-econom- ics major, she worked for Public Service Electric and Gas in New Jersey before devoting herself to community service and raising her family. In Verona, NJ, she was a trustee of her church and a member of the choir and bell choir; she also worked for the town beautification com- mittee and was a Girl Scout leader. In retirement, she moved to Boothbay Har - bor, ME, where she became a church dea- con and trustee and volunteered at the local library and the court of appeals. She was also involved in the Isle of Springs, her summer home, where she was direc- tor of the Island Association, president of the Ladies Improvement Society, and


island columnist for the Boothbay Register. For Skidmore, she was class secretary, president, and reunion volunteer who led her classmates in songs she often com- posed at reunion time. She and her family especially enjoyed spending time on their boat. She is survived by daughter Elisa - beth Bogart Ayer ’79, two sons, and sev- eral grandchildren. Her husband, Gil, predeceased her. March 10, 2012. She also attended Penn State. She was the owner and operator of a women’s clothing store in Long Beach Island, NJ, before returning to Pennsyl - vania. Active in her temple and Hadassah, she was also a staunch supporter of Special Olympics. She is survived by three daugh- ters, five grandchildren, and a sister. ton, NY, died April 28 of a respiratory ill- ness. A business major, she was director of adult education for the Town of Wiscas - set, serving in Wiscasset schools. She was also a deacon in her church and a volun- teer for the East Hampton Food Pantry. An avid quilter and gardener, she enjoyed renovating the 200-year-old farmhouse where she and her husband lived for many years. For Skidmore she was a class agent and reunion volunteer. She is sur- vived by a daughter, a son, and three grandchildren. Hannah Zuckerman Weiss ’57 of Liv - ingston, NJ, died March 28. A psychology major, she also attended Boston Univer - sity before going on to earn a master’s degree in special education. She began a career as a preschool teacher for special- needs children but became in volved with hospice in 1981 after the death of her daughter Donna. She helped establish Hospice Inc. in Montclair, serving as sen- ior director of volunteers and pioneering the introduction of pet therapy for pallia- tive care. She is survived by husband Alvin, a daughter and son-in-law, two grandsons, and two brothers. Evelyn Dartnell Strickland ’58 of St. Petersburg, FL, died March 18 of Alzhei - mer’s disease. She is survived by husband Bob, two sons, and a daughter. Debra Block Boorstein ’58 of Highland Parke, IL, died December 18. An English major, she completed her baccalaureate degree at Boston University. She leaves husband Ronald, a daughter and three sons, 11 grandchildren, and a sister and brother-in-law. player who especially loved to travel. Predeceased by husband Donald, she leaves a daughter, two sons, and eight grandchildren. Edythe Oberfeld Levitt ’59 of NYC,


died April 12 of ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s dis- ease. A business major, she completed her degree at the Wharton School, where she was a member of the first female graduat- ing class. She worked for IBM and the Purchase College Foundation, and in later years was a partner in the Levitt-Fuirst Associates insurance agency. She was a lifelong competitive duplicate-bridge play- er, earning Silver Life Master status. She enjoying traveling and vacationing with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters and four grandchildren; husband David prede- ceased her.


Arlene Friedman Rimson ’59 of Albu - querque, NM, died April 20 of cancer. She was a theater major. She was director of human resources for a major research and development firm. In the 1980s she served as chair of the education committee of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce. An avid basketball player, she continued playing in a women’s senior league well into her 60s and competed in several national senior basketball tournaments. She was also a hospice volunteer. She is survived by husband Ira, three daughters, four grandchildren, and a brother. Ann Davison McDonough ’60 of Queensbury, NY, died April 28. A phys- ed major, she earned her teaching creden- tials at SUNY-Cortland. She taught in the Hud son Falls school system for many years and later sold real estate. Active in her church, she sang in the choir and served a term as senior warden. She enjoyed spending summers at Cape Neddick, ME, with her husband and chil- dren. She is survived by husband Robert, two sons and a daughter, a brother, and six grandchildren. Colette Houle Palermo ’60 of Holden,


MA, died April 7 of lung cancer. She was a phys-ed major. She was a photographer and literacy volunteer. She is survived by four daughters and seven grandchildren. Susan Obermaster Reich ’62 of Morris - town, NJ, died May 12. A biology major, she retired from a long career in educa- tion as chair of the elementary science department at The Pingry School. She was a 40-year member of the Temple B’nai Or Sisterhood, which she served as past presi- dent and board member. She leaves hus- band Ken Sidman, two children, two step- children, her mother, a sister, and four grandchildren.
