CT, died June 22, 2009. A home-econom- ics major, she was co-owner of a gourmet cake-decorating business, whose clients included Hollywood celebrities. The recip- ient of numerous culinary awards, Helen and her sister were featured on the June 1979 cover of Food and Wine magazine. She is survived by a niece. Her husband, Edwin, predeceased her. MN, died February 25. A biology major, she served two years in North Africa and Italy as a Red Cross volunteer during World War II. She later launched a career as a child welfare caseworker in Blooms - burg, PA. She was an avid traveler, an expert at sewing, quilting, and needle- point, and an active member of her church. A nursing major, she earned a master’s in education from Boston University and certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner from North - eastern, where she later taught nursing. She coauthored Ambulatory Pediatric Prac - tice, published by Little, Brown. In retire- ment, she counseled parents through the Head Start program. She was a nursing major and also studied at Syracuse University. She is survived by two daughters. Peggy O’Neil McNamara ’41 of Hing - ham, MA, died January 21. A history major, she went on to earn a master’s in guidance and counseling from Boston University. She worked as a school coun- selor and placement director for the New England Home for Little Wanderers. She especially enjoyed international travel and was a staunch supporter of Skidmore. NY, died April 3. A science major, she was a laboratory technician at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY, and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Active in her community, she was a member of the Cayuga Heights School Advisory Committee and chair of the Citizens Committee to Save Cayuga Lake. She was also an elementary-school tutor and volunteered at a cerebral palsy clinic. For Skidmore she was class president and a reunion volunteer. land, MA, died February 25. An art educa- tion major, she taught art in the Framing - ham public Schools for more than 20 years. She was very active in her church. She is survived by two daughters, a sister, and two grandchildren. Diane Dissell Brinley ’43 of Auburn, ME, died January 30. A nursing major, she completed her degree at Hartford Hospital School of Nursing in Connecticut and volunteered for the US Army Nurse Corps. She served on a hospital ship assigned to the USS Louise A. Milne, making five trips to the European and Pacific theaters dur- ing World War II. Back home, she volun- teered for the American Red Cross and the Stroke Rehabilitation Program and was a board member of the Friends of the Maine Medical Center. She was one of the first female deacons at her church. She was an avid outdoorswoman who enjoyed swimming, golf, and skiing. She is sur- vived by two daughters, a brother, nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchil-
