It can be difficult to get a southbound at this location in the morning. which is still standing and is used by B&P MOW forces, is located less than a half mile from Bonnie Brook Road. To get there, head back toward Route 422, make a left and continue east on 422 less than a half mile. WS Tower can be seen from Route 422.

Make a left turn onto Keck Road. WS

the easiest town to navigate around or through. To make things simple, the B&P engine facility is the place to start a chase of the BT-3. Most mornings will find BT-3’s power somewhere in the fa- cility. After the crew climbs aboard and gets permission from the Butler yard- master, they will proceed north to East Butler to make up their train. To get to East Butler from the Route 68 overpass, jump on Route 422 east. The intersection of Route 68 and 422 is just north of the overpass at the engine facility. Once on Route 422, you’ll soon pass over the B&P Butler yard. East Butler yard, where the BT-3 will do its switching, is about three quarters of a mile north of the 422 overpass. Contin- ue east on Route 422 to the next light, at Bonnie Brook Road, located in Bon-

nie Brook. A left at the light will soon bring you to the tracks. After crossing them, make a left onto Grant Ave. Fol- low it back west to a stop sign at Butler Road. After making another left, you’ll soon cross two sets of tracks. The first set is the main; the second is the run- ner. BT-3 most often uses the runner while making up its train. East Butler yard is just west of the Butler Road crossing. Depending on how long its train is, BT-3 will sometimes switch across the Butler Road crossing. After making up its train, BT-3 will then proceed north toward old WS Tow- er, which is located in Bonnie Brook. After catching BT-3 at Butler Road, re- trace your steps back to the Bonnie Brook Road crossing. There is a nice wide open shot there. Old WS Tower,

Tower is located just west of the Keck road crossing. The runner connects to the main right in front of WS Tower. Just across Keck Road, there are two more switches, one for a little used passing siding on the main, and just be- yond that, the switch for the Northern Sub. All the switches at WS are hand throw, so BT-3 will stop at WS to make its way off the runner and onto the Northern Sub.

After catching BT-3 at WS, jump back on 422 and head east. A couple of shots can be taken from Route 422 be- fore the tracks pull away, then head north. At Carbon Center Road, about one mile from WS, make a left. At Keck Road, which follows the tracks from WS, take another left. At the grade crossing,

the Northern Sub crosses Keck Road and just to the north of the crossing, the B&P main line passes over the Northern Sub on a nice bridge. Return to Carbon Center Road and head north. Carbon Center Road will soon cross over the B&P main then
