Other car manufacturers have entered the golf market but have not been overly successful, why will Aston Martin be any different? Firstly this is a golf range that has been designed by people that really know the golf industry and have many years of experience. When we first talked to Aston Martin it was clear that the range needed to utilise high-tech materials, offer genuine performance and represent the luxury and craſtsmanship that Aston Martin is famous for – our challenge was to meet this criteria whilst offering customers an affordable range of premium products. We believe that Aston Martin can be a major golf brand so we have sourced serious materials and components and refined these to fit the brief.


Aston Martin is a luxury sports car brand, is your intention to sell the range to Aston Martin owners? Of course we believe that Aston Martin owners will be interested in the range as it is an extension of the marque that they love however, our target audience is fans of the brand who we believe will be attracted to the quality and the performance of the products. The interest in Aston Martin is huge, they have over 2.5M Facebook fans and over 1M unique visitors on their web site every month.


What products have you developed for 2014? We are really proud of the new 2014 range which includes clubs, bags, luggage accessories, apparel and a golf cart. Across Europe the two key areas are the apparel line and the golf cart. When it comes to the apparel collection we have an easy to understand range which picks up on our seasonal colours of Thistle, French Blue, Aqua and Silver. The golf cart is the other really exciting product – we have noticed a real growth in this area in recent years and feel we can offer golfers a very strong alternative over the market leaders. The Aston Martin golf cart is unique with the protection of no less than four international patents – the latest of which is theBullet SystemTechnology. This technology makes folding and unfolding extremely easy, the cart folds with one movement and is locked and ready for use.


Can you tell us more about the technology involved in the clubs? We are very excited about the club range. We are using Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage as our standard shaſt option, which is used by the world’s leading players. Over the last nine years a Mitsubishi Rayon shaſt has been fitted to the winning player’s driver on the US Tour a staggering 124 times. All of the clubs feature exciting technology– the driver (£299) has a moveable face angle to allow the player to adjust the loſt. The wedge (£99) has a unique raw finish to increase the feel from the face and our irons (£799) feature maraging face technology which ensures maximum repulsion from the club face.
