In the heart of bustling Piccadilly, the Criterion has always found itself in the middle of all the action. The hand-made solid gold mosaic ceiling (valued at £7-£8million) is truly something to behold, as well as the elegant period features. As a beautiful Grade II listed building the Criterion has been open as a venue since 1874, setting the scene for some memo- rable history. The opulent setting has played host to some key events in time, from the meeting of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s books to the suffragettes talking women’s rights over afternoon tea. Whether it’s an intimate dinner for that all-important client or a grand Christmas party for the whole office to remember, the Criterion Restaurant is at your service with a trained events team to help make your event unforgettable. With a large main dining room and a terrace area at the back, this venue is very versatile for many events from private dining to product launches, weddings and Christmas parties.
