JANINE STREULI
Programme Manager BA (Hons) Ballet Education
Janine joined the Faculty of Education in August 2010 and teaches across a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes. Prior to joining the Academy, Janine taught at a Further Education College as well as the RAD Dance School and several private sector ballet schools. During that time, she was a mentor for BA (Hons) Ballet Education students on teaching placements across the private and public sector. Janine has a background in ballet and contemporary dance as well as a keen interest in health and safe practice. She has also taught yoga and pilates in numerous contexts, including the leisure sector.
DENNIE WILSON
Professional Dancers’ Awards Programme Manager
Dennie joined the Faculty of Education in September 2012, fresh from an exciting 6-month contract working on the Olympic and Paralympics Games, where she worked as Victory Ceremony Venue Producer and currently teaches across undergraduate and professional programmes. Prior to this she worked at Elmhurst School for Dance (Contemporary Dance for 6th form and graduate year), the University of Wolverhampton as Senior Lecturer in Dance and Performance and as a dance artist with the Birmingham Royal Ballet’s department of learning.
A career as a dancer, performer and performance maker has taken her all over the world.
ROSIE GERHARD Lecturer in Dance Studies
Rosie joined the Faculty of Education in September 2009 as Lecturer in Dance Studies. Rosie tutors across all programmes, covering dance history, aesthetics and Labanotation. She is Level 5 Co-ordinator for BA Ballet Education and Study Skills Co-ordinator for the Faculty of Education. Rosie also supervises undergraduate dissertations and teaching placements on the BA Ballet Education programme.
HOLLY PRICE
RAD Studies Manager & Lecturer in Ballet Education
Having trained as a teacher, Holly had a successful performing career, before teaching ballet to company classes, vocational students and children. She has been involved in training young dancers who have graduated into professional companies and more recently involved in the teaching of trainee teachers at Certifi cate to Masters level.
Currently Holly teaches ballet to children attending the RAD Dance School (London), and teaches ballet and pedagogy to students on undergraduate and professional programmes.
Holly is an RAD examiner and tutors throughout the world delivering RAD syllabi courses, CPD and non syllabi ballet classes.
LIBBY COSTELLO
Programme Manager, Certifi cate in Ballet Teaching Studies & Diploma in Dance Teaching Studies
Libby joined the Faculty of Education in 2007 as Programme Administration Manager for the Certifi cate in Ballet Teaching Studies. She became Programme Manager in 2010 and from 2013, expanded her programme portfolio to include the new Diploma in Dance Teaching Studies. Alongside her managerial role she tutors on the BA (Hons) Dance Education programme in Labanotation and Movement Analysis, Dance Education and Dance Philosophy. Previously, she held an Associate Lecturer position at the University of Surrey.
CAITRÍONA PRICE,
Programme Manager BA (Hons) Dance Education
Caitriona has worked internationally as a dance teacher, teaching a diverse array of dance genres working with students from aged 2 to 72. She has also worked in the private, vocational and state sectors in the UK. Before joining the Faculty of Education in 2005, Caitríona was a faculty member of London Contemporary Dance School, Trinity Laban and Circus Space contributing to their degree programmes and currently lectures/ tutors across a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes in the Faculty of Education.
