A record attendance is expected at the up- coming Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards ceremony 2013 which will take place on Friday 1 November at the Lancaster London hotel. An esti- mated 650 guests are expected to attend, smashing the 2011 record by over 150 at- tendees. “Themoment we announced the list of fi-

nalists, tickets started selling,” said Robert J. Lowe,marketingmanager UK & Ireland, Kimberly-Clark Professional. “Many of those shortlisted are bringing their clean- ing teams, as well as their clients to help celebrate the achievement ofmaking it to the finals. Whether they win or not, they’ve already got something to shout about and want to celebrate with all the relevant par- ties.” The Golden Service Awards 2013 also saw

an increase in the number of entries over- all. Healthcare establishments and office buildings once again attracted themost en- tries but some of the new categories - Ex- ternal Pedestrian Areas, the Healthy Workplace, and Specialist Cleaning Com-

pany awards in particular - were also well received. “The Golden Service Awards are a great

way for everyone involved to showcase what they believe is best about their busi- nesses,” continued Lowe. “They’re a fan- tastic tool for benchmarking yourself against the rest of the industry. The awards also give you a chance to show to your clients that independent judges, taken from among the leading experts in the cleaning andmaintenance sector, have rated your performance as the best of the best. They are also a great boost for your staff. People work very hard in this industry and it’s re- ally important to be able to give real recog- nition to some of its heroes. At the same time, the awards recognise the high stan- dards achieved in training by the best oper- ators in the industry.” The winners of all 23 categories will be

announced at the awards ceremony which will be hosted by a well-known BBC pre- senter. As usual, the event will begin at midday with pre-lunch drinks which will be followed by a three coursemeal and
