Laser Diff raction Droplet Size Analyzer

The Spraytec laser diff raction droplet size analyzer from Malvern Instruments measures across a wide range of particle sizes (0.1–2000 µm) during real-time spray actuation. Capable of resolving

rapid changes in droplet size over time by taking up to 10,000 measurements per second, the technique is well suited to testing spray and atomization processes for aerosol devices.

www.malvern.com Balances for Education and Training

The Sartorius Practum® series of entry-level balances for laboratory education and training, available in nine models, cover weighing capacities from 120 g to 5100 g, with readabilities from 0.1 mg to 1 g. The dependable, ruggedly built weigh cell ensures that even

entry-level users will weigh correctly and obtain professional, accurate results at all times. The easy-to-use menu guides the user intuitively through standard built-in applications, such as weighing, counting, peak hold to “lock in” the highest reading of a measurement series, and weighing under unstable conditions. The supervisor lock enables educators to prevent unintentional changes to the menu settings that control the balance’s weighing performance or data transfer to rule out operating errors.

www.sartorius.com Rotary Evaporator

The RV 8 rotary evaporator from IKA is an entry-level model recommended for all standard evaporation applications. It is equipped with the HB 10 heating bath, which has enhanced safety features. A key lock prevents unintentional alteration of bath temperature. The handle in the casing allows the user to dispense

the heated medium without touching the actual heating bath. In addition to the vertical glassware, all glassware in the RV 10 range can be used. The partially automated lift system has a “Safety Lift-out Function” that lifts the evaporator fl ask out of the heating bath in the event of a power outage.
